1 Threshold – <\/strong>Future Possibilities
\u201cThreshold\u201d is a welcoming sculpture that greets visitors to the Stillman Sculpture Court as they approach from the south side across from the Shakespeare Character Garden. The character of the young woman standing at a doorway invokes feelings of hope and future possibilities invoking thoughts of roads to come and roads not taken.   

As in many of her other works the artist here seeks to capture moments that reveal truths about the human condition that, when stripped down to their essence, are understood intrinsically. She tells a story through the simple moments that imprint our lives and define us.

2 Threshold – Artist: Jane Dedecker<\/strong>
As a figurative sculptor, Jane DeDecker communicates emotional experience through lyrical compositions that move the viewer.  As she works the clay, concepts emerge from memories and observations of life.  Impressions of something felt, seen, or heard take three-dimensional form. As a figurative sculptor, Dedecker communicates emotional experience through lyrical compositions that move the viewer; sculptures that stop life in mid-sentence \u2013 somewhere between inhaling and exhaling \u2013 and gives it form.

DeDecker manipulates clay with painterly brush marks, with careful attention to her intent.  Her work is not static, nor is it a finished thought, but rather tied to a moment in time and place that reflects an unfinished story.
